The Malahat Skywalk officially opened July 15, and takes walking enthusiasts on an elevated walkway to the breathtaking views as far as the eye can see, according to the skywalk s Facebook page. The views from the lookout 250m above sea level are spectacular. However, this adventure is for all the senses. Enjoy the scents, sounds, and textures of the coastal forest, according to the Facebook page. Walkers can choose between walking back down from the viewpoint or sliding down a spiral slide once they ve finished their walk. The tower provides sweeping views of Mt. Baker, Finlayson Arm, the Saanich Peninsula, and islands in two countries.
