The Chattanooga Mocs are playing some of their best basketball these days and they have a six-game winning streak to prove, including three big ones in the last five days at McKenzie Arena.
Wednesday night’s 89-81 overtime win over Western Carolina may have been the toughest as the Mocs played behind most of the game, but when push came to shove and the outcome was still up in the air, the Mocs came through like champs.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) A.J. Caldwell had 11 points off the bench to carry Chattanooga to a 53-51 win over East Tennessee State on Monday night after the Buccaneers made a 3-pointer with seconds left that was waved off because a timeout was called.
Darius Banks made two free throws with nine seconds left to give the Mocs a 53-50 lead. With 4.8 seconds to go, Ledarrius Brewer was fouled. He made the first and missed the second.
Silas Adheke slipped inside and grabbed the rebound and found Damari Montsanto in the corner. Montsanto drilled a 3-pointer with 2.8 seconds left but the referee in front of the East Tennessee State was giving the Mocs a timeout after Adheke’s rebound.

It had been three weeks since the Chattanooga Mocs last played at McKenzie Arena, but they celebrated on Saturday with a 70-66 victory over The Citadel Bulldogs, making up for a 92-87 loss in Charleston back on Jan. 9.
It was the first game where the UTC men played in front of fans as 971 decided to support the local team.
