Weather is impacting some Southeast Texas school districts. Brookeland ISD in Jasper County has canceled classes today and Burkeville ISD in Newton County is all virtual today. Evadale ISD in Jasper County will dismiss classes at 1 this afternoon.

Gas prices are up over the past week. Triple A Texas reports the average price in the Beaumont/
Port Arthur area this morning is $2.68 a gallon, which is up seven cents. The statewide average is
up a dime to $2.75 a gallon. This morning’s national average is $3.03. That is up eight cents.

Police in Orange is asking the public’s help after the owner of Bluebird Fish Camp on Lincoln
Drive was shot early yesterday morning. 65-year old Oscar Joseph LeBlanc was found in his
yard with three gunshot wounds. He was transported to a Houston hospital. Anyone with any
information is asked to call the Orange Police Department or Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers

I LOVED Audioslave s 2002 self-titled debut album. Good gosh. From the built up riff in Cochise, to the blazing Show Me How To Live opening up the album, I don t believe there s any filler songs on this album. It had 4 gosh-darn singles, and those weren t even the best songs, in my opinion.
HOT TAKE - the greatest track on that album is Shadow on the Sun (featured in Collateral with Jamie Foxx and Tom Cruise - a great movie btw).
But oh how apropos. Listen to Gasoline, friends. And complain all you want, as we watch the world burn.
