Jackson County Grand Jury indicts 28

The Office of the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney announces that the Grand Jury sitting in the February, 2021 Term of Court in the Circuit Court of Jackson County, West Virginia has returned 30 Indictments against 28 named individuals, as follows:
• Brian Bertloff, (29) of Cleveland, Ohio was indicted with one (1) count of Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm, a felony.
• Jonathan Spencer, (36) of Cottageville, was indicted with one (1) count Transferring or Receiving Stolen Property, a felony.
• Mildred Casto, (55) of Given, was indicted with one(1) count of Embezzlement, two (2) counts of Forgery, two (2) counts of Uttering, two (2) counts of Falsifying Accounts, thirty-one (31) Counts of Fraudulent Use of An Access Deliver, ten (10) counts of Computer Fraud, one (1) count of Fraudulent Scheme, and one (1) count of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, all felonies.

Miami Police is conducting an internal investigation after social media video shows officers punching a man being arrested in Liberty City.
Interim Chief Ronald Papier has released this statement: The Miami Police Department is aware of a video circulating on social media depicting Miami Police officers involved in a use of force against an actively resisting subject. The subject was ultimately arrested for a Probation Violation warrant issued for removing an ankle monitor in place for a prior Robbery, Battery, Carrying a Concealed Firearm, and Giving a False Name to Law Enforcement offense. On the incident date the subject was also charged with Battery on a Police Officer, Resisting an Officer with Violence, and Obstruction by Disguised Person. Montana Becomes 18th Constitutional Carry State Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte last week signed a bill recognizing that law-abiding Montana gun owners 18 or older may carry a concealed firearm without written authorization from the government. The measure approved by the Republican governor, HB 102, was approved 68-30 by the state House and 29-21 by the state Senate, largely along party lines earlier this month. Gianforte signed the proposal last Thursday. Our Second Amendment-protected right to keep and bear arms is part of Montana’s, and our nation’s, rich heritage, said Gianforte in a statement.
