The huge parachute used by NASA s Perseverance rover to land on Mars contained a secret message, thanks to a puzzle-lover on the spacecraft team and space lovers solved it within hours.
Engineers wanted an unusual pattern in the orange and white stripes of the 21-metre nylon parachute so they d be able to see how it was oriented during Perseverance s descent to the Red Planet.

The particular parachute that had helped NASA s Perseverance Mars rover land on the planet last week unfurled to reveal some sort of random color pattern in its video clips of the said rover s landing.
However, there was more to this story as NASA officials noted that there was actually a hidden message that was written in binary computer code.

According to an article by The Verge, the internet was reportedly able to crack down the message within only a matter of hours. The red and white pattern reportedly spelled out Dare Mighty Things in the concentric rings.

The world watched on with bated breath as NASA took a giant leap towards the exploration of the red planet.
The space agency on Monday released the first-of-its-kind audio and video recording from the Perseverence Rover that landed on Mars.
The recording is of a faint crackling of a gust of wind that was captured by the rover. In addition, the space agency also released a full video of the rover landing on Mars. According to an AFP report, a microphone malfunctioned during the rover s descent. But it was able to record audio after landing on Mars. The 6-second recording has now been shared on social media.
