Council members voted during a February meeting to rescind the city’s Rental Housing Registration and Inspection Plan, a decision prompted by both an inability to do rental property inspections due to COVID-19 and a need to develop a potentially stricter and more enforceable policy. The council debated the merits of keeping the fee in place for 2021 despite rescinding the program, as well as options that include making the fees optional or waiving them entirely.

(Brian Korthals/Daily Globe) WORTHINGTON In a Tuesday evening meeting that lasted a little less than 15 minutes, the Worthington Planning Commission agreed to forward a written opinion to the Worthington City Council regarding Redevelopment Projects 6 and 7. The commission’s unanimous vote followed a recommendation from city staff and confirms the projects “conform to a general plan for the development of the locality as a whole,” Worthington Assistant City Administrator/Director of Economic Development Jason Brisson said. “We want to fit these into the comprehensive plan, and this says that we’re not putting residential where it shouldn’t be,” Brisson explained Tuesday to Planning Commission members.

After issuing the order, MahaRERA member B D Kapadnis on January 28, directed the builder to pay the complainant 9% simple interest on the Rs 1 crore that was paid in April 2014 till handing over the possession of seven shops in a redevelopment project at D N Nagar in Andheri (W).
