Fight against drug trafficking discussed in Almaty AKIPRESS.COM - The working meeting of key officials of the Drug Control Service of the Interior Ministry of Kyrgyzstan and the Central Asian Regional International Coordination Center (CARICC) was held on May 12 in Almaty. The sides discussed areas of joint activities and directions of cooperation between the Drug Control Service and CARICC in countering drug trafficking and further development of collaboration within the mandate of the Centre, which to date is an effective mechanism for coordinating efforts of competent authorities of CARICC member states in combating transnational drug crime. The sides agreed to ramp up cooperation in identification and prevention of work of transboundary criminal groups, exchange of information on drug situation and main trends of development of the situation.
