JOHOR BARU: A 25-year-old man was injured after his car collided with an ambulance at an intersection here on Friday (April 16).
Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Padzli Mohd Zain said the incident took place at about 1pm at KM5 of Jalan Bahru - Kota Tinggi.
“The ambulance driver was believed to have failed to stop the vehicle at a traffic light.
“The private ambulance, which was carrying a patient, was coming from Kota Tinggi while the car was from the Jalan Dato Sulaiman direction, ” he said in a statement on Friday.
He added the car driver suffered injuries following the accident and is currently undergoing treatment at the emergency unit of Hospital Sultanah Aminah (HSA).

SINGAPORE: The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) has unveiled its new seventh-generation ambulance that can self-decontaminate and automatically load or unload stretchers to reduce the risk of accidental drops.
The ambulance, which has blue strips on its exterior instead of the usual red, also comes with a modular storage system that allows medical equipment to be rearranged or carried around easily.

For the ambulance driver, new safety features include a 360-degree vehicle camera and parking assistance.

The sick and injured are being forced to wait for help in the back of an ambulance at several emergency departments at the country s biggest hospitals as demand skyrockets.
The waits are affecting patients who equire medical assistance upon arrival at Auckland City, Middlemore and Christchurch hospitals.
PAYETTE
A 22-year-old Nampa man who was injured in a two-car crash on April 1 died from injuries sustained in the crash.
âSean Crandall, the driver involved in the collision on U.S. Highway 95 April 1, just north of Payette did indeed succumb to his injuries,â reads an email on Monday afternoon from Lynn Hightower, communications director for Idaho State Police.
She says the incident remains under investigation.
The crash happened near milepost 73, and Idaho State Police responded at about 2 p.m.
Police say Crandall was traveling south on the highway, driving a 2009 Ford Focus.
He was stopped to make a left-hand turn on N.E. 25th Ave. when he was struck from behind by a 1998 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Judi Richards, 57, of Weiser.
