“I walked into the trauma room and he was lying on the table. He had on the neck brace, covered in blood and scratches and just lying very still,” said Bill.

Police got a search warrant and found more than 170 stolen items â valuing around $15,000.
âWe received tips from the public that there was suspicious activity happening at this specific pawn shop,â said Officer Chuck McPhilamy, with the Marietta Police Department.
Marietta City code requires all Marietta pawn shops to list every item purchased within a national database⦠so if your stolen item pops up somewhere in a pawn shop, police can help get your property back.
âItâs how, we in law enforcement, can communicate across the entire country,â Officer McPhilamy added.
But police said the owner of Pawn World Business wasnât doing that.

An extensive investigation that spanned the last six months landed a Marietta pawn shop store owner and employee in jail this week.
Marietta Police arrested Gordon Blanton, 47, and Michael Dituri, 64, on Tuesday.
Officers said over the course of several months, police investigated Pawn World, located on Roswell Street, after they received tips that the shop may have been working with criminals to buy and sell stolen property.
