It was just released that Marietta Superintendent Will Hampton reached out to the Marietta Police last week. NEWS Posted on: 05/21/2021   UPDATE: The Marietta Police Department report that Ernest Howard Cox, 71, has been located in Marietta. Cox had been missing since May 18. He is being taken to the hospital for medical care.   ORIGINAL: Marietta Police are investigating the whereabouts of a 71-year-old man, who was last seen at his Glendale Road residence Tuesday. Cox is reportedly 5 9 , 135 pounds, with grey hair and a grey beard. He was last seen wearing a red shirt. Cox is said to be only familiar with the area immediately near the Frontier Shopping Center and his direction of travel is unknown. If located, immediately contact the Marietta Police Department at 740-376-2007.

Ernest is only familiar with the area immediately near the Frontier Shopping Center and his direction of travel is unknown. Marietta sees drop in crime, according to police Marietta police are crediting new technology and community involvement in decline in crime. MARIETTA, Ga. - As violence continues to be a problem across metro Atlanta, the city of Marietta said they re seeing a downward trend. Police said crime is now the lowest they’ve ever seen in the city. MPD said this has to do with three things including community engagement and the use of advanced technology. According to the Marietta Police Department, crimes against persons dropped by 13 percent between 2016 and 2020. Crimes against property went down 21 percent in that same time frame.

For The Times Leader MARIETTA, Ohio The Washington County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday afternoon the arrest of a suspect in the series of bomb and active shooter threats in southeast Ohio schools over the last six days. Nicholas John Frances Hall, 18, of 1385 Washington Road, Thomson, Ga., was arrested in McDuffie County, Ga., by the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office. Washington County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Mark Warden announced the arrest after a multi-agency investigation Tuesday. According to the affidavit submitted to Marietta Municipal Court by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday for a warrant uploaded to the National Crime Information Center, Hall allegedly confessed to a deputy sheriff of the Georgia agency that “he made the bomb threats to get his girlfriend out of school.”
