Hoboken Police Chief Ken Ferrante will officially retire on July 1 after 28 years of policing.
Hoboken Police Chief Ken Ferrante will officially retire on July 1 after serving as police chief since 2014.
“I have been a police officer for 28 years, the Police Chief for the past seven years, and two years as OEM Coordinator before that,” said Ferrante. “I have proudly served this city and loved every second of it. In fact, my father Retired Captain Fred Ferrante and I served for a combined 60 plus years at the HPD.”
Montana Governor Signs Legislation to Implement Marijuana Legalization, Begin Sales Next Year

Marijuana sales are set to begin in Montana in January of 2022, according to new legislation signed by Republican Governor Greg Gianforte.
Gianforte on Tuesday put his stamp of approval on House Bill 701, which will implement and regulate a recreational marijuana program in the state, according to KTVH.
Residents overwhelmingly voted to legalize adult-use cannabis in a ballot initiative during the 2020 election, with the measure getting nearly 57 percent support. Montana was one of five states to approve a marijuana reform initiative in November.
The I-190 ballot initiative legalized the possession and use of marijuana for adults over the age of 21, imposed a 20 percent tax on marijuana sales, required the Department of Revenue to develop rules to regulate cannabis businesses, and allowed for the resentencing or expungement of marijuana-related crimes.
Should the measure pass, Minnesota would join over a dozen states that have legalized marijuana in recent years, including Massachusetts, California and Colorado. The state of New York recently legalized recreational marijuana in March.
According to the Tribune, a heated debate over the issue lasted for five hours before the vote on the bill. This bill is a long time coming, Minnesota House Majority Leader Ryan Winkler (D) said. Minnesotans have decided it s time to legalize cannabis and right the wrongs of the criminal prohibition of marijuana that has failed Minnesotans and has failed Minnesota.
