Architecture Titan Helmut Jahn Killed In Bicycle Accident In Kane County

CHICAGO (CBS) Even if you didn’t know Helmut Jahn’s name, you certainly know the mark he left on Chicago’s skyline.
The architectural titan died this weekend at the age of 81, after he was struck by two vehicles while riding his bicycle.
Police said Jahn was killed in the accident around 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Campton Hills, a Kane County suburb near St. Charles.
Jahn was riding his bicycle north on Old Lafox Road approaching Burlington Road and failed to stop at the posted sign, police said. He was struck by a vehicle heading east on Burlington Road and then struck by a vehicle heading west on Burlington Road.

CALUMET CITY, Ill. (CBS) A man is in custody after barricading himself in a mobile home after police said he shot another man, and then fired at officers.
As CBS 2’s Marissa Parra reported, the Bishop Ford had been closed between Sibley Boulevard and Dolton Avenue for eight hours as of 10 p.m. We are told it was because of the proximity of the freeway to the mobile home in which police said the suspect was barricaded.

3 Killed, At Least 3 Wounded In Kenosha County Bar Shooting; Person Of Interest Located

SOMERS, Wis. (CBS) Three people were killed and several more were wounded in a shooting early Sunday morning at a bar popular with college students in Kenosha County, Wisconsin.
A person of interest has been located and will be charged, authorities said.
As CBS 2’s Marissa Parra reported, the scene remained an active one more than 14 hours later. It was a complex one too, according to the Sheriff’s office – alluding to multiple crime scenes.
The shooting took place just before 1 a.m. inside the Somers House, at 1548 Sheridan Rd. in the village of Somers, and another exchange of gunfire took place outside in the street.
