Even when El Hayani moved to Quebec a few years ago, he continued to run barefoot in the cold. At first, he could run for 10 minutes before it became too cold, but he adapted.

A KZN woman who ran seven marathons in seven days on all seven continents has helped refurbish a rural school.
Nontu Mgabhi, through sponsors, helped open five new classrooms valued at R1.7 million at Khiphinkunzi Primary School in Dukuduku Reserve in Mtubatuba.
She is planning another run for funds in the Sahara Desert, where she will run 251km.
A KwaZulu-Natal long-distance runner who helped raise more than a million rand to refurbish a badly dilapidated school has not only helped repair the premises, but also provided hundreds of pupils with uniforms.
