Human trafficking sting in Anderson leads to 2 arrests
A multi-agency human trafficking operation was led by the Anderson Police on Saturday at a local hotel.

Multi-Agency Human Trafficking Operation Results in the Arrest of Two Suspected Pimps and Trafficker.
ANDERSON, Calif. – Anderson police said they made arrests on Saturday after they conducted an operation utilizing known prostitution websites to set up meetups so that they could bust pimps and sex traffickers at a local hotel.
Anderson Police said they asked other law enforcement agencies to assist in the operation targeting human sex traffickers with a focus on providing resources to suspected victims. Saturday at 5:00 p.m. the investigators saw two females arrive at the hotel for what they say was “the purpose of prostitution.”
Shorefront Legacy Center was awarded a two-year grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Wednesday for its archives and local reparations research initiatives.
“Shorefront’s two-year grant will increase engagement within the local Black communities,” a Shorefront press release read. “The grant will support Shorefront’s work in collections care, programming activities, publications, the African American Heritage Sites Program and research efforts involving local reparations.”
The press release said the two-year grant will allow Shorefront to build upon 25 years of educational and outreach initiatives. Additionally, Shorefront can expand its archive collections with a focus on Haitian and Jamaican communities and invest in additional preservation and security measures.
