Yuan-Innes, the South Glengarry doctor and writer who pens the Hope Sze medical thrillers as Melissa Yi, gave her 2013 mystery Terminally Ill some extended life in a new format, when it was presented in a virtual workshop reading in mid-June by Ottawa’s Theatre Artists’ Co-operative: the Independent Collective Series (TACTICS).

“(It was online) because of the pandemic, but this workshop reading helps us determine how we can bring Terminally Ill to the main stage next year, aerials and all,” said Yuan-Innes, who works as an emergency physician and hospitalist as her ‘day job.’
