Tipperary camogie clubs involved in DRA case

Tipp FM (c) Sportsfocus.ie The 35 clubs left in last year’s unfinished All-Ireland club camogie championship are taking their case to the Disputes Resolution Authority. The clubs, including Tipperary senior champions Drom-Inch and Intermediate champions Thurles Sarsfields, say they’ve been left with ‘no other option’. In a press release today, the 35 clubs state that they are going to the DRA as it appears the camogie association is not going to reverse their decision of canceling the remaining fixtures. The clubs have proposed that all the remaining games could be played in a three week period from June 7th until June 27th.

Kilkenny remember fifty years of Féile Na nGael Reporter: );   ); This year marks the 50th anniversary of Féile Na nGael which was started in Thurles in 1971.  The main aim of Féile was to increase youth participation in our native games. The festival was founded by Tipperary County Secretary Tommy Barrett, former GAA President Seamus O’ Riain and Tourism Officer for North Tipperary Eamon De Stafford. The central idea was that the other thirty-one counties would be invited to Tipperary for a week-end to compete against clubs from all over Tipperary. Getting the Féile up and running every year is a big task and would not happen if it wasn’t for the countless volunteers who really are the strength of our association.  The first Féile took place on the weekend of July 16 to 20, 1971. Sweeney says he really enjoyed the break he was given away from a fast paced life due to lockdowns over the past year. Speaking on last night’s Time Out with Stephen Gleeson, Conor says he embraced the time away from the game: “I embraced it, I saw the lockdowns as a real opportunity. “From a football perspective, first of all I took a break, a well needed break physically and mentally because mentally it can take it’s toll on you as an inter-county player because you’re always switched on, you’re always thinking.

Hopes That Bloody Sunday Commemorations Will Take Place in 2021

Tipp FM Text 083 311 3311 Plans to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of Bloody Sunday may take place in 2021. Due to the pandemic, many plans lined out by the Tipperary Bloody Sunday Committee had to be postponed. While the commemorative jersey was worn by the Tipperary football team on Munster Final day, further plans to remember the event could not go ahead.
