Shelton fire log: Odors of gas, alarms, Birdseye Road house fire keep crews busy April 30, 2021 FacebookTwitterEmail The Shelton Fire Department responded to the following calls this past week. Monday, April 19 At 8:28 a.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 and the White Hills Co. No. 5 responded with a rescue truck to the Perry Hill School, 60 Perry Hill Road, for an odor of natural gas in the building. No presence of gas was found by firefighters. At 3:21 p.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. No. 4 responded with an engine and a ladder truck to a Myrtle Street address for an odor of natural gas in the building.

Monroe Fire Will Donate Old Fire Engines To Nearby Towns

Chief Terry Williams and Mayor Friday Ellis are pleased to announce the donation of two fire engines from the Monroe Fire Department to two regional fire departments. On Friday, April 23, 2021, we will host a departing ceremony at the Public Safety Center. We’ll begin at 12:15 p.m. and depart at 12:30 p.m.   Both trucks are 1999 pumper trucks. One truck will be donated to the Beekman Volunteer Fire Department in Morehouse Parish. The other truck will be donated to the Winnsboro Fire Department in Franklin Parish. We anticipate arriving at Beekman by 1:30 p.m. and arriving at Winnsboro by 4:00 p.m.

WMPD: Teen mom tried to strangle baby to death Special to USA Today Network A 17-year-old mother has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, according to a release from the police department. Just before 6 p.m. Wednesday, West Monroe Fire Department contacted West Monroe Police Department in reference to a call in 800 block of Pine Street. Officers arrived on scene, where care was being given to an infant. The initial investigation led to the arrest of a 17-year-old female. The juvenile female reportedly told to officers that she tired to kill her 2-month-old baby by choking it. The infant was taken to a hospital, and Child Protective Services was contacted.
