BRIDGEPORT A 70-year-old New York man allegedly posing as a benevolent grandfather wanting to aid his college-student grandson is accused of trying to flim flam a Monroe bank out of $200,000.
“I have a lot of medical issues. I don’t know what is going on. I ask that you release me,” said Leroy Brown, leaning on a cane in his cell in the lockup of the Golden Hill Street courthouse during his video arraignment hearing Wednesday afternoon.
