Manns Choice
Frank L. Stouffer, 84, of Manns Choice, passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.
He was born July 3, 1936, in Cumberland, Md., a son of the late Edward W. Stouffer and Lora Pearl (Lybarger) Stouffer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; sisters, Lottie, Anna and Hetty; brothers, Harvey and Wilbert.
He is survived by his brother, Jack, daughter, Lisa, son James and his wife, two much-loved granddaughters, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Frank attended Londonderry School in Hyndman and graduated with the class of 1954 from Bedford High School. After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, he embarked on a sales career before retiring to the Bedford area in 1998. He was active in local historical organizations.
Lt. Col. John Hoyman of the U.S. Army Reserve recently returned from a six month tour serving his duty for the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon.
Hoyman, of Manns Choice, works at the White Sulphur Springs Conference Center, a Christian retreat center for the military community, where he is the Director of Operations.
The ministry is privately owned, and White Sulphur Springs is one of two conference centers, with the other being Spring Canyon in Buena Vista, Colo.
At the conference center, they conduct and host retreats for military families, adventure activities for military kids, and training conferences for leaders of Christian fellowships for military individuals.
