MARDAN/PESHAWAR: With the rain lashing different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, two children were killed and three people, including a woman, were injured in Mardan district in separate incidents on Wednesday.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issued a warning of flooding in Budhni nullah of Peshawar and Kalpani nullah of Mardan and glacial lake outburst floods in Chitral region during the current monsoon spell.
The Rescue 1122 officials in Mardan said four-year-old Adnan and four-month-old Nosheen died and another child suffered injured after the roof of their house collapsed in Bijligar locality of Katlang tehsil.

ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) was put on high alert by the Prime Minister on Wednesday after torrential downpours triggered flash flooding in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, leaving at least two people dead.
Prime Minister Khan took notice of the situation and cautioned citizens to take special care as the monsoon season brought heavy rains to the country. “I have also directed all the relevant response agencies including NDMA (National Disaster Management Authority) to be on high alert with ready and rapid emergency response actions,” he tweeted.

PESHAWAR:
A door-to-door Covid-19 vaccination drive has been launched in five most affected districts of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Wednesday.
The campaign has started in Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Mansehra and Abbottabad and will continue till August 10.
The health department had sent written directives to the five districts and a deputy director was assigned the task to monitor the whole process.
For Peshawar, Dr Omar Faisal, Mardan, Dr Mushtaq and Dr Asad Ali, Swat, Dr Makhdoom Safdar and for Abbottabad and Mansehra Dr Khaliur Rehman had been nominated.
