India is fighting the second wave of Covid19 now. Cases are on the rise while the country is trying to figure out a way to get it in control. Recently Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi started reporting cases of black fungus infection. This is seen in coronavirus patients. During their recovering stage, the infection attacks the eyesight.
This first happened last year where patients were hit by the Mucormycosis infection. The Delhi hospital has admitted more than 5 patients with this infection. There has been a rise in the cases of this infection. In 2020, this infection attacked many. People lost their eyesight and for some, it even affected their nose and jaw.

Doctors at a foremost private hospital in Delhi reported an alarming rise in the cases of black fungus or Mucormycisis in COVID-19 patients.
What Is Mucormycosis or Black Fungus? Black fungus or Mucormycosis, previously known to the medical sciences as zygomycosis is a fungal disease that is triggered by the COVID-19 virus. It is a rare yet serious disease caused by a group of molds called mucormycetes that lives throughout the environment. Mucormycosis mainly acts on people who have health problems and weak immunity making their bodies inefficient to fight against infectious germs and illnesses. This disease has been proved to be fatal for patients in transplants, ICUs, and immunodeficient patients.

Black fungus or mucormycisis is a fungal infection triggered by Covid-19.
Doctors at a leading private facility in Delhi are witnessing a rise in the number of Covid-triggered mucormycisis cases, according to a statement from the hospital.
Mucormycisis is a fungal infection triggered by Covid-19. Black fungus or mucormycosis has been a cause of disease and death of patients in transplants, ICUs and immunodeficient patients since long.
Dr Manish Munjal, senior ENT surgeon at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, said: We are seeing a rise again in this dangerous fungal infection triggered by Covid-19. In the last two days, we have admitted six cases of mucormycisis. Last year, this deadly infection caused a high mortality with many patients suffering from the loss of eyesight and the removal of the nose and the jaw bone.

A hospital in Delhi, the epicentre of coronavirus in India, has reported the resurgence of deadly Covid-induced black fungal infections in patients.
These types of infections can cause loss of sight and can lead to corrective measures such as the amputation of the affected area. According to Delhi doctors patients who contract black fungus only have a 50 percent survival rate.

Delhi s Sir Ganga Ram Hospital has reported a rise in the number of COVID-induced mucormycosis or black fungus cases. Senior ENT surgeon at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Dr Manish Munjal said that six cases of this infection were admitted in the last two days.
