WEF names Dalal Iriqat as Young Global Leader
RAMALLAH, Wednesday, March 10, 2021 (WAFA) – The World Economic Forum today named Dalal Iriqat as a Young Global Leader.
Iriqat, the daughter of the late chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat, was named as one of the WEF’s 112 most promising Young Global Leaders under the age of 40, involved in activities ranging from advocating for public healthcare to campaigning for inclusivity in medical research.
Iriqat is assistant professor and the vice president of international relations at the Arab American University in Palestine. She is a weekly columnist at Al-Quds Newspaper since 2016. Her research focuses on diplomacy, nation branding, Palestinian state building, coercive diplomacy, public diplomacy, soft power in addition to mediation and conflict resolution. No new COVID-19 infections logged on March 9 morning
Vietnam reported no new COVID-19 cases in the past 12 hours to 6:00 am on March 9, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
The country recorded 1,586 domestically-transmitted infections, including 893 cases since the latest outbreak began on January 27.
As many as 45,219 people who came in close contact with COVID-19 patients or arrived from pandemic-hit areas are under quarantine nationwide, including 506 in hospitals, 14,266 in other quarantine sites, and 30,446 at home.
Among the patients under treatment, 65 have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once, 57 twice, and 137 thrice.

I remember vividly how my mother had to struggle to raise funds for me to attend a Scripture Union (SU) Camp in Jasikan during the mid-90’s. Even though I was young, I appreciated her efforts and her determination to ensure that I participate in the Scripture Union Camp to build and align myself to the teachings of the Gospel.
Most Ghanaian women, irrespective of their background and educational level, ensure the safety and protection of their families.
March 8 is commemorated globally every year to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This is backed by the United Nations SDG Goal 5 which aims at, Achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.
