KUALA TERENGGANU: The Terengganu PenjanaKerjaya Carnival 2021 which ended yesterday has helped 839 individuals secure suitable jobs, said State Entrepreneurship, Human Resources, Micro Industry and Consumer Affairs Committee chairman Mohd Nurkhuzaini Ab Rahman.
He said 3,665 job seekers were present to be interviewed by potential employers during the two-day carnival.
“Of the number 936 candidates went on to the second interview and subsequently 839 people were successful as the available jobs matched their academic qualifications and skills.
“This is quite an achievement because the employment opportunitIies will have a significant impact on the state‘s economy,“ he said in a statement today.

PUTRAJAYA: Phase two of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, covering senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PwD) and those with chronic diseases, will begin on April 19 in eight states, said the programme’s Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin (

Phase two will kick off with Kedah, Melaka, Penang, Pahang, Sabah, Sarawak, Terengganu and the Federal Territory of Labuan, to be followed by other states several days later according to the readiness of the vaccination centres and staff, he said.
Khairy said potential vaccine recipients would be notified of their appointment dates through the MySejahtera application from today.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 The Human Resource Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan said that employers have until March 31 to conduct Covid-19 screening on their foreign workers.
“They have until the end of this month and after March 31, we will take action,” he said in a news conference after witnessing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the Human Resource Ministry and the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry here, today.
Support for caregivers is also being considered, in terms of full pay for workers who are caring for an ailing family members or for men to handle care responsibilities for a newborn child.

PUTRAJAYA, March 9 Enforcement of the Workers’ Minimum Standards of Housing and Amenities Act 1990 (Act 446) could, among others, help redeem Malaysia’s image in managing foreign workers, said Human Resource Minister, Datuk Seri M. Saravanan.
He said the ministry which had an important role in redeeming this image such as the country seen as treating workers unfairly, had set Act 446 as a precondition to bring in foreign workers into the country.
