Ben-my-Chree return delayed.again
The Ben-my-Chree is not estimated to return to service until the end of the month. During its scheduled period in dry dock, detailed inspections of the vessel have identified that specialist third-party work is necessary to repair stern tube bearings on the ship. The specialist contractors have now indicated that the scope of work required will take longer than initially anticipated. Until she returns, fast craft Manannan will continue to operate daytime passenger services while MV Arrow will provide overnight freight services. Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Chief Executive Mark Woodward said: ‘We will naturally keep all passengers informed over the next few weeks and, subject to the work being completed, are hopeful the Ben-my-Chree will be back in service by the end of May.
A&P Falmouth Reports Six Months of 100% Occupancy

Among the clients of A&P Falmouth involved a regular Ireland-mainland Europe containership, Samskip Express which following a grounding on the Irish coast (last year), led to extensive repairs carried out at the UK shipyard repair facility in Cornwall. AFLOAT also adds the 803TEU capacity containership was recently in Dublin Port (as above in this file photo) and is currently berthed in the Port of Rotterdam.

The largest shipyard-repair complex in the UK, A&P Falmouth, announced that they had a 100% occupancy of all three dry docks over the last six months - with some docks occupied simultaneously by multiple vessels.

Who is Heading Where Along the Supply Chain
WORLDWIDE – SWITZERLAND – The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that Willie Walsh has officially taken on the role of Director General of the organisation. He succeeds Alexandre de Juniac.
Walsh was confirmed as IATA’s 8th Director General by the 76th IATA Annual General Meeting on 24 November 2020. He joins IATA after a 40-year career in the airline industry. Walsh retired from the International Airlines Group (IAG) in September 2020 after serving as its CEO since its inception in 2011. Prior to that he was CEO of British Airways (2005-2011) and CEO of Aer Lingus (2001-2005). He began his career in aviation at Aer Lingus in 1979 as a cadet pilot.
