Russia sets new daily record of 29,935 coronavirus cases, 635 deaths
MOSCOW. Dec 24 (Interfax) - Russia has hit another all-time daily high of 29,935 Covid-19 cases, and 635 patients have died over the past day, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Thursday. Over the past day, 29,935 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 85 regions of Russia, including 4,512 active asymptomatic cases (15.1%), the headquarters said.
Russia saw its previous all-time daily high of 29,359 cases several days ago, on December 21.
Moscow also registered its all-time high of 8,203 coronavirus cases. The city confirmed 76 coronavirus-related deaths and 5,508 recoveries in the past 24 hours.
By now, Russia has seen a total of 2,963,688 Covid-19 cases, including 53,096 deaths and 2,370,857 recoveries, among them 26,890 patients discharged from hospitals over the past day.

Morbidity remains the highest in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and the Moscow region.
According to the headquarters, the Russian capital registered 5,652 new Covid-19 cases, as well as 73 deaths and 5,228 recoveries in the past 24 hours.
By now, Russia has seen a total of 2,933,763 Covid-19 cases, including 52,461 deaths and 2,343,967 recoveries, among them 24,447 patients discharged from hospitals over the past day.
