The free tests are available Monday through Thursday at the Human Services Building on South Cedar Street. Registration for an appointment is required via the health department website.
The department has partnered with LynxDX, a private diagnostic company based in Ann Arbor, for the tests.
There are no nasal or throat swabs. Instead, patients’ saliva is used for the test. Results are sent by text or email within a day or two.
Hours for the drive-through site are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There will be no testing on Memorial Day next week or on Monday, July 5th in observance of Independence Day.

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) â Branch County and the Southwest Michigan Solid Waste Consortium will once again be hosting a scrap tire recycling event on Saturday, August 28 at the Human Services Building at 570 Marshall Road in Coldwater.
Itâs only open to Branch County residents who will be allowed to donate up to 10 tires at no charge between 9:00 a.m. and 12 noon.
No tractor tires will be accepted. The only tires being collected are passenger vehicle and pickup tires.
The event is being made possible by a Michigan Department of Environmental Quality Scrap Tire Grant.

NEW HANOVER & BRUNSWICK COUNTIES, N.C. (WECT) - New Hanover County Health and Human Services and Brunswick County Health Services have expanded their vaccine availability to people 12 and older beginning Thursday, May 13.
After the FDA expanded Emergency Use Authorization for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to include 12-15-year-old children Monday, the CDCâs Advisory committee on Immunization Practices gave its formal approval Wednesday evening. This action opens vaccination to approximately 17 million adolescents.

May 13 The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine passed its last step Wednesday, making it available to millions of children 12 to 15 years old, and many providers in the Triangle are ready to start giving the shot.
Monday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized emergency use of the vaccine for children in that age group.
Wednesday, a panel of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention gave its approval after data shows the Pfizer vaccine is safe and effective in that age group.
