On Monday, the Manassas City Council unanimously approved a new ordinance that amends the City’s parking regulations. Now drivers must park within a marked parking space when they park on a city street. Previously, the code required drivers to park in marked spaces for any municipal parking lot. However, the code did not address vehicles parking outside of designated, marked areas on public streets within the city.

In one of her first actions as mayor, Michelle Davis-Younger told residents Monday night that starting on Monday, February 8, all City Council meetings will be held virtually. The move comes as the city erected plexiglass barriers to separate council members, who are already wearing masks to protect themselves from the virus.
