A collaborative mental health initiative between a St. John’s high school and a local singer is having a big impact on students.
Recently, Gonzaga High School and singer Ray Lake launched the “It’s Gonna Get Better” initiative.
It’s a video of the singer detailing his mental health journey, including a song he wrote about it.
Tracy Gardner, a teacher mentor with the Gonzaga Mental Health Coalition, says the partnership was born following a conversation she had with Lake’s wife about the song, and how it was going to appropriately be released during the pandemic with a message that things will improve.
