The Inter-Ministerial Committee on Land Reform and Agriculture held its monthly meeting on 31 March 2021 to deliberate on a range of programmes and initiatives aimed at fast-tracking land reform.
The Committee is seized with the task of ensuring that access to land is broadened to cater for agriculture, human settlements and industrial development.
More importantly, that access to land is central to achieving restorative justice and promoting inclusive economic participation.
The meeting received progress reports on a range of issues, including progress in the implementation of the recommendations of the Presidential Advisory Panel on Land Reform and Agriculture. The need to provide a progress report to Cabinet was emphasised in this regard.

NATIONAL NEWS - President Cyril Ramaphosa says as people adapt to new ways of working and as they make use of technology to do their work, the digital revolution should also happen in rural areas.
The President said this when he addressed the opening of the National House of Traditional Leaders at the Old Assembly Chamber in Parliament on Thursday.
He said COVID-19 has changed people’s lives - it has changed the way everyone does things and people have also adapted.
“We have adopted new ways of working, new ways of doing things. We have also adopted technology processes that enable us to be able to meet rather cost effectively, but to carry on doing the work that needs to be done.
