The new Firefox tab design
Mozilla has officially released a new version of Firefox, this time with pretty huge improvements under the hood.
First and foremost, the biggest change you’ll notice after launching Firefox 89 is the revamped UI, which Mozilla says it has specifically been redesigned “to be cleaner, more inviting, and easier to use.”
This modern refresh includes a simplified browser chrome and toolbar, clear menus with removed iconography, updated prompts for infobars, panels, and modals, as well as a new tab design.
“Floating tabs neatly contain information and surface cues when you need them, like visual indicators for audio controls. The rounded design of the active tab supports focus and signals the ability to easily move the tab as needed,” Mozilla says.

Mozilla s version 89 release of Firefox overhauls the web browser with a modern appearance, and brings quite a few updates specifically for macOS.
The update, released on Tuesday, is framed as making the browser work even faster, with a redesigned and modernized core experience that s cleaner and easier to use. This includes a clearing and streamlining of menus, the removal of underused items from the toolbar, and updated prompts.
Mozilla also included an improved tab design with context-sensitive surface cues, such as audio control indicators. The number of alerts and messages will also be reduced to cut down on user interruption, while the lighter iconography and refined color palette is said to be cohesive and calmer than in previous versions.

The latest Firefox update is officially available. The Mozilla Foundation’s web browser is changing and inaugurates its new interface, called Proton. Mozilla made it simpler, clearer, and above all more modern, with some curves.
The menus have been reorganized and the less used items have been removed. Only the functions essential to navigation have been kept in the foreground. The various alert windows that were once displayed in the form of a pop-up bubble have not escaped this facelift and are now floating.
This is also the case with tabs. Now the active tab, which takes on a lighter color than the navigation bar, also floats above the tab bar and displays visual indicators when media is playing on the page.
