The City of Timmins approved its 2021 net expenditure budget Tuesday night, but not before another heated exchange between Ward 3 Coun. Joe Campbell and Mayor George Pirie.
Among other things, Campbell appeared to be upset at the “$43,831,606” figure associated with the 2021 net expenditure budget, suggesting it only tells part of the story of the city’s finances.

“As I mentioned last meeting (Feb. 2 budget meeting), the budget for this city is in the range of $150 million, if you include general taxation, the fees, the service fees and all the grants we get,” he said, after being granted the floor prior to the motion to approve the budget being moved, or seconded.
