Mumbai: Billabong High International School (BHIS), teacher Gurjit Kaur Saggu gets nominated for Dedicated Teachers Award by Cambridge. Gurjit a physics teacher of BHIS Malad is shortlisted for an award for transforming her home kitchen into a laboratory to teach her students physics experiments innovatively during a lockdown. She is one among 13000 teachers from 112 countries who are nominated for this award.
Some people have turned this pandemic time into an opportunity for others & themselves. One of them is Gurjit Kaur Saggu, a BHIS school teacher who gave a new dimension to her profession by making her teaching joyful and valuable for her students. IT TOOK ABOUT 1.5 YEARS. WE STRUGGLED TO GET IT OPEN. THE SUSPECT HAS SINCE BEEN CONVICTED OF SETTING THE FIRE AS WELL SEVERAL OTHERS IN THE STRIP MALL. THE STORE WAS MOVED TO MCHENRY AVENUE, LOOKING TO THE FUTURE. IF I WANTED TO GET GOOD ASIAN, I HAD TO GO TO SACRAMENTO OR SAN JOSE. BUT NOW WE HAVE THIS AND IT IS GREAT. AFTER SHUTDOWNS DELAYED A SPRING 2020 REOPENING. IT WAS VERY HARD

Vivaan Jain (11) and Reyansh Botadra (7) of Billabong High International School (BHIS), Malad, have won multiple laurels at Winter International Online Speedcubing (WIOS) Tournament 2020 held recently.
They participated in different categories of the tournament where they outperformed their counterparts and won accolades.
Class VI student Vivaan, who participated in Cube Pluss Winter Open in one category of WIOS tournaments, won the Gold medal in a 3x3 level of speedcubing. He also emerged as the 2nd runner up in solving Pyraminx puzzle and secured first position in solving 4x4 & 5x5 High IQ Megaminx cube in a given time.
