Badminton: Defiant BWF aim to push for new scoring system

PETALING JAYA: The Badminton World Federation (BWF) admitted that they have not consulted players thoroughly on the 11-point, best-of-five (11x5) scoring proposal which will be put up for vote during the virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday. In an in-depth questions and answers forum made available to the Members Associations on the BWF’s corporate website, the world body revealed that they had previously garnered inputs on the new scoring format from the players in 2018 but will not do the same this time. BWF said they were getting mostly negative responses from players who voiced their scepticism on the change.
