Fogging Schedule April 12-16, 2021

Article by Social Share The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ Vector Control Unit will concentrate its fogging programme in St James this week. The areas to be fogged on Monday, April 12 are: Bagatelle Road, Bagatelle Park, Little Ridge, Hoytes Village Development, St John The Baptist Drive, and environs. On Tuesday, April 13, the team will move to 1st and 2nd Avenues Thorpe’s Road, Holders Hill, Thorpe’s Main Road and surrounding areas. Denny Road, Thorpe’s Terrace and immediate areas will be sprayed on Wednesday, April 14. The exercise will continue on Thursday, April 15, in Halls Village, Halls Village #2, Prior Park Heights, Husbands and environs. On Friday, April 16, the team will spray Thorpe’s Main Road, Husband Road, Ricks Road, Ricks Road # 1,2,3 and surrounding areas.

Water supply disruption in several areas File photo: The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) compound at St Joseph. - SUREASH CHOLAI The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has warned of an interruption in pipeborne water in various areas of Trinidad. In a press release on Tuesday, it said some areas of Freeport, Gran Couva, Moruga and Diego Martin will be affected by repairs. It said the communities served by the Freeport Water Treatment Plant are experiencing an interruption in their normal supply. This is due to electrical problems that affect field operations of the facility s supply well. Emergency repair work is under way and is expected to be completed by 6 pm on February 17.

Missing San Juan teen found

(Image: TTPS) The Police Service is confirming that a 16-year-old San Juan girl, who was reported missing on Friday 11th December 2020, has been found. As such, the Missing Persons Alert for her has been de-activated. In a news release, the TTPS reports that SHANIA APPLEWHITE, of Bagatelle Road, San Juan, visited the Penal Police Station on Saturday 19th December 2020, and stated that she was in good health. Officers of the Child Protection Unit are continuing enquiries into her case, and the Children’s Authority has been contacted.

Teen found, 3 other people missing

Teen found, 3 other people missing Monday 21 December 2020 THE police reported on the weekend that three people have gone missing while a teen who was previously reported missing, had been found and is now safe.  San Juan resident Shania Applewhite, 16, of Bagatelle Road, who was reported missing on Friday December 11, has been found. She visited the Penal Police Station on Saturday and stated that she was in good health. Officers of the Child Protection Unit are continuing enquiries and the Children’s Authority has been contacted. A police press release stated that this was the second time Shania had been reported missing after disappearing in September only to be subsequently found.
