MANISTEE The Manistee Area Public Schools band program was able to help area youth thanks to the Band Boosters virtual sock fundraiser.
For every pair of socks sold, a new pair was donated to an area nonprofit agency. This year, Staircase Youth Services Manistee County was the recipient.

COVID-19 vaccine clinics slated in Manistee County area

MANISTEE The Northwest Michigan Health Services is offering several COVID-19 vaccine clinics in the area this week. We continue to make progress with COVID vaccine distribution in northwest Michigan. Leelanau and Grand Traverse counties continue to lead the way with the percent of the population that has at least received the first dose of the vaccine, according to an email from Northwest Michigan Health Services.
Clinics this week include:
• 8:15-10:30 a.m. June 16 at Northwest Michigan Health Services Clinic, Shelby;
• Noon-4 p.m. June 16 at Ertie’s Forest Trail, 9331 N. U.S. 31, Free Soil (Johnson & Johnson vaccine);
