“Hindi po kami sang-ayon sa ganiyang pagpapalakad o kaya magkakaroon tayo ng ganiyang proseso (We do not agree with such kind of move or process),” said DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire on Friday, May 14.
“Sa ngayon po even if you are fully vaccinated, or completed two doses, kailangan pa rin magpatupad ng minimum health protocols, at ang sinasabi na vaccine pass ay hindi pa rin mairerekomenda ng ating Kagawaran ng Kalusugan (Right now, even if you are fully vaccinated, or completed two doses, minimum health protocols still need to be implemented. The so-called vaccine pass is not recommended by the DOH),” she added.

The second batch of AstraZeneca vaccines, totalling to 2,030,400 doses, arrived in the country last Saturday, May 8, through the World Health Organization (WHO)-led COVAX facility.
DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that 1.5 million of these vaccines will expire in June, “while the rest would be in July.”
Vergeire said that a mechanism has already been laid out to avoid wastage of these vaccines.
“Wala po tayong dapat ikabahala. Nakagawa na po ng mekanismo ang ating vaccine cluster on how we can be able to consume these vaccines (We have nothing to worry about. Our vaccine cluster has already created a mechanism on how we can be able to consume these vaccines),” she said in a press briefing on Tuesday, May 11.

“Nung April nabuo na ang medical team na magsasagawa ng trial na ito. Maayos na rin ang susundin nila na safety protocol. Hinihintay na lang ngayon na bumaba ang kaso ng COVID (coronavirus disease) kasi gagawin natin ang trial sa PGH (Last April, the medical team that will conduct this trial was formed. Apostolic Vicariate of Puerto Princesa, Palawan Bishop Socrates Mesiona, chairman of the CBCP commission said, the holding of the Visita Iglesia, A Virtual Pilgrimage is in line with the country’s observance of the 500 years of Christianity this year at a time of pandemic.
The virtual pilgrimage begins today, May 8, at 10 a.m. and may be viewed through the Facebook page of the CBCP-ECM and on TV Maria. It will be held every first Saturday of the month.

“Lumabas na po ang CPR (Certificate of Product Registration) ng Ivermectin and specific naman po ang CPR for anti-parasitic purposes,” said DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire.
“So kung sakaling gagamitin yang Ivermectin ng ibang doctor (If a doctor will use it [for a different purpose], it’s going to be an off-label use and the accountability and liability will rest upon the physician who was prescribing,” she added.
On Friday, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the use of Ivermectin to humans as an anti-nematode.
Some lawmakers are pushing for the use of Ivermectin for the prevention and treatment of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
