A COVID-19 outbreak at a Corvallis care facility for dementia patients continues to grow, according to the latest information from the Oregon Health Authority.

There were a total of about 409,000 reported COVID cases in the U.S. last week. That drop came after cases jumped up earlier this month, Deaths are down, too under 5,000 last week. That s the first time we ve dropped below 5,000 deaths in a week since October. The big key in all of this is more people getting vaccinated. More than 95 million Americans are now fully vaccinated and more than 140 million people have gotten at least their first shot of a vaccine.
The Mid-Valley STEM-CTE Hub recently awarded $78,019 in educator and community-based organizations microgrants.
âWith ample evidence that COVID-19 is widening the existing systemic education and inequality gaps, our aim is to partner with educators and local nonprofits to develop projects that reduce barriers and support students,â said Director Sarah Whiteside. âThrough this support, students will gain more access to meaningful science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) and career and technical education (CTE) opportunities.â
The microgrants are provided by the Mid-Valley STEM-CTE Hub with funding and support from the Oregon Department of Education, Ford Family Foundation, Oregon Community Foundation and John and Ginger Niemeyer Foundation.
