OPINION: Thanks to Mattapoisett s first responders

Mar 13, 2021 To the editor:  Mattapoisett is special, with its seashores forests and community at large. We have a large number of citizens in their senior years. The COA is exceptional with offering activities and assistance with health care issues. If you need them, they are there. Mattapoisett has 105 people over 90 years of age right now. They depend on us as we depended on them in the past. We have exceptional police and fire departments and we all depend on them. Whether it is for paramedics or help getting up from a frightening fall, they respond with patience and kindness while preserving the dignity of the person at that time of need.
