CALEDONIA The Highway 6 bypass in Caledonia may be reopened by the end of this week with the removal of a barricade blocking traffic for the past three months.
A group of protesters, that calls itself 1492 Land Back Lane, announced the move on Monday.
The barricades on Highway 6 are opening up later this week.
Skyler Williams, the spokesperson for the 1492 Land Back Lane movement, made the announcement on social media.
He also noted that the barricades on Argyle Street and McKenzie Road will be moved back slightly to allow access to certain areas but the road as a whole will remain closed.
The hope is that this act of good faith will lead to sit down conversations with the federal and provincial government.
Williams full statement is below.
