Rock stars recount Joy Bangla Concert highlights from previous years UNB, Dhaka UNB, Dhaka
The bands that rocked the Joy Bangla Concert stage in previous years reminisced their special moments from the past events and rendered songs online as the concert has been halted this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Young Bangla, a leading youth platform of CRI (Centre for Research and Information), aired the virtual event on its official Facebook page featuring talks by the bands members, their songs, and visuals narrating the historic events that the concert is themed on.
Since 2015, Young Bangla has been featuring the Joy Bangla Concert every year paying tribute to the Father of the Nation s historic March 7 speech.

Historic March 7 being observed
The historic 7th March, a memorable day in the history of Bangalis’ long arduous freedom struggle, is being observed across the country on Sunday in a befitting manner.
In 2017, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) recognised the historic March 7 Speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as a world documentary heritage.
On this day in 1971, Bangabandhu, the undisputed leader of Bangalees, had delivered his epoch-making speech of independence before a mammoth rally at the historic Racecourse Maidan, now Suhrawardy Udyan, in Dhaka city.
In his 19-minute extempore speech before a million freedom-loving people, Bangabandhu had made a clarion call for a non-cooperation movement asking the nation to prepare for the war of independence to liberate the country from the exploitative Pakistan regime.

The speech inspired Bangalees to be brave, motivated them into believing it was their fight to play their part in saving their beloved land from the brutal attack of the west Pakistanis. People knew their lives were on the line, nonetheles, they united and the war began.
