Anti-Corruption Bureau to scan rogue Charkop copâs assets

The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) will scan the details of properties and assets of a police sub inspector (PSI) attached with Charkop police station who was arrested on Monday for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a contractor to help him in a case filed against him.
The name of the arrested accused is Bharat Dhembare. After trapping a government servant, ACB officials start going through the financial and property details of the accused. If the amount exceeds the known sources of income, a case with regard to disproportionate assets is registered. The agency will ask Dhembare to explain the source of the assets and if they find any disproportionate assets, then another case can be registered.

LUDHIANA: The police on Wednesday booked a hosiery trader for opening fire at a yarn dealer at Ferozepur Road in the wee hours of Tuesday. The firing followed an argument between them as the accused was driving on the wrong side of the road, leading to near-collision of their cars.
A case under the Arms Act has been registered at Sarabha Nagar police station against Akshit Malhotra, 23, of Mahavir Nagar.
Yarn trader Umesh Kumar of Agar Nagar said he and his cousin were returning in his car from a hospital in Model Town. When they reached Ferozepur Road, a speeding car came towards them from the wrong side and nearly hit their vehicle. When he confronted the accused, he came out of the car and fired two shots at him. They, however, escaped unhurt, Umesh said.

The Mumbai unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) laid a trap and caught a police sub-inspector red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 on Monday.
Officers said that sub-inspector Bharat Dhembare, posted at Charkop police station, had demanded Rs 40,000 and a bottle of whiskey from the complainant, who is a BMC contractor.

MUMBAI: A police sub-inspector and one more person were arrested for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000, a Maharashtra Anti Corruption Bureau official said on Tuesday. PSI Bharat Dhembare of Charkop police station in the metropolis had demanded a bribe from a civic contractor who had been booked in a case, he said. The contractor had deployed clean-up marshals to collect fines from people not wearing masks as mandated during the coronavirus outbreak. They had fined a man in Kandivali s Mahavir Nagar area and the kin of the latter reached the contractor s home on December 11 and picked up a fight, he said.

Mumbai: The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested a police sub inspector (PSI) attached with Charkop police station for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a contractor to help him in a case filed against him.
The name of the arrested accused is Bharat Dhembare and according to the ACB, the contractor was appointed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for deputing clean-up marshals.
The marshals were presently given the task to fine people who are not wearing masks on account of the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic.
âThe marshals had taken actions against a man at Mahavir Nagar in Kandivali. The manâs relatives reached the contractorâs residence on December 11 and had indulged into an argument with him. A scuffle broke out which led to a fight,â said an ACB officer.
