The total Covid caseload of the state rose to 29.5 lakh on Saturday, and the total fatalities stood at 55,656. Pune lockdown news updates: Pune, one of the worst affected cities in Maharashtra by Covid-19, has decided to impose night curfew from 6 pm to 6 am starting tomorrow (Saturday, April 3). Hotels, restaurants, bars, shopping malls, markets and religious places will also remain closed for at least one week. The decision to impose these curbs was taken during a review meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday.
The administration has allowed only home delivery of food, medicines and other essential items. No public function, except funerals and weddings, will be allowed. Maximum 20 people will be allowed for funerals and 50 in weddings.Â

Lockdown imposed in Maharashtra s Nagpur in view of surging Covid-19 cases will not continue from April 1. The public health department on Wednesday issued a notification announcing the new rates. From the initial cost of Rs4,500, the price of RT-PCR was brought down to Rs1,600 in September, Rs850 in December and now to Rs600 at a laboratory or a hospital. The govt. had earlier issued an order prohibiting both in office. After asking employees and officials not to wear T-shirts and jeans at office, the Maharashtra government on Tuesday amended the order by dropping jeans from the prohibition.
Government employees must not wear T-shirts while on official duty, the new order said.
By an order on December 8, the government had prohibited wearing of jeans and T-shirts, a fiat that had met with opposition from employees.
