Aspersions have been raised on the sincerity of the Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) by its own leaders. What are your views on it?
MIR MOHAMMAD FAYAZ (FM): PAGD is a failure till it doesn’t come up with a roadmap. They should clear as to what they want to do in the coming future. In the Kupwara district, there was a lack of unity during recent District Development Council (DDC) polls. If the present state of affairs continues, the PGAD would not be taken positively by people. In absence of a roadmap, the future would not be good. The PAGD needs to be truthful.

You independently contested the District Development Council elections? Are you still with PDP?
SAFEENA BEIGH (SF): I haven’t formally resigned as Peoples Democratic Party’s Women Wing President but I am not part of the party anymore. My husband (Muzaffar Hussain
Beigh) has parted ways with the party, how can I continue? I respect Mehbooba Mufti; she will always be my elder sister. We have no personal differences but our political paths are different now. I don’t believe in hypocrisy. I believe in merit and she knows I have always been outspoken.

Srinagar: Accusing the Centre of pushing Jammu and Kashmir s mainstream parties to the wall , former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday said sadly, these parties have become scapegoats and everybody s favourite whipping boy .
Nevertheless, the PDP leader said, they are prepared for a long and arduous political fight for the restoration of Article 370 of the Constitution which was illegally abrogated.
