Earlier, police had claimed that Mufti Aziz had confessed to his crime of sexually abusing his student. The police produced Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman before the area magistrate Shahid Khokhar. The police produced Mufti to record his confessional statement under 164 CrPC. However, Aziz told the court that the seminary had conspired against him and the police were pressurising him for a confession. He denied sexually assaulting one of his students.
