FLOOD ADVISORY: Ice Jam Near Cameron Bridge Road
An ice jam caused a portion of Cameron Bridge Road west of Belgrade to be closed between Linney Road and Highline Road. NOW REOPENED.
NOTE: If you ever see or encounter an ice jam, rapidly rising water levels or any flooding on roadways.PLEASE report it to authorities. Especially in rural areas. The best defense is knowing where ice jams are occurring and that information often comes from citizen spotters.
WHAT: A Flood Advisory has been issued for northwest Gallatin County.
DETAILS: According to the Gallatin County Sherriff s office,
there is an ice jam on Yellow Dog Creek.
Yellowstone National Park is the poster child for winter this week with frigid temps and TONS of fresh snow. The next storm could bring 16 more inches of new snow by Friday night in the Park.
DOZENS of counties in Montana are under some sort of Winter Weather Advisory or Watch in addition to several Wind Chill Advisories.

Yellowstone National Park gets an average of 150 inches of snow per year. HOWEVER, the numbers vary greatly year to year so the Park s average is just that.an average. Surrounding mountains can easily get twice that amount in a year.
Gallatin and Broadwater counties are prone to Flood Advisories with all of our fantastic waterways. An advisory has been issued for our area through Friday evening.
