Travelers’ Rest Connection supports Travelers’ Rest State Park through outreach, advocacy and educational experiences connecting the past to the future. They accomplish this in part thanks to a loyal membership base and generous donors. That is evident in the fantastic auction items they produce each year.
Like most events, COVID-19 has turned Travelers Rest Connection up-side-down and they are unable to host a traditional auction this year. In lieu of an in-person event they will be hosting an Auction Inversion online February 19-26, 2021.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has been offering internships to college students for about 30 years now. It s no secret that Montana’s beautiful natural landscapes provide a rich diversity and abundance of wildlife habitats and world-class fish and wildlife for public enjoyment. Montana FWP, through its employees and citizen commission and board, provides for the stewardship of the fish, wildlife, parks, and recreational resources of Montana, while contributing to the quality of life for present and future generations.
Wow! How Many People Visited Montana State Parks in 2020?
Gosh, who the heck saw this coming? Besides everybody. They were trending upwards in visits already, but 2020 really ramped up the average.
Our good friends at Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks wanted us to share the figures. Montana State Parks recorded more than 3.4 million visitors in 2020, a 29.5 percent increase over 2019. Visitation increased every month in 2020 over 2019, despite temporary closures at a small handful of parks and the absence or sharp decline in school field trips, events and other group activities.
The record-setting visitation numbers come as no surprise to any of you who visited parks in 2020. Beth Shumate, Parks Division Administrator at Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks noted, “The increased amount of people outdoors was evident, and our staff went above and beyond the call of duty to keep our parks safe and accessible.
