Just 15 days after the first day of class, Montana State University Billings is seeing its largest increase in student enrollment in 10 years for both undergraduate and graduate programs.
According to the university, 3,987 students were enrolled, with 2,263 at the University Campus and 1,724 at City College.
MSU Billings Chancellor Stefani Hicswa said Tuesday morning that the university has implemented new efforts to retain students and adhere to COVID protocols.
âWe want to make sure that students have the experience on campus that they need to be retained and finish their degree. The most expensive degree out there is the one that isnât completed,â said Hicswa.

BILLINGS â Appointments are filling up for the first week of Yellowstone County s centralized, community COVID-19 vaccination clinic, with a total of 2,250 first doses of vaccine available to be administered inside Cedar Hall on the MetraPark campus, said Greg Neill, RiverStone Health emergency response manager Monday.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week, 37 health care workers from Billings Clinic, St. Vincent Healthcare, RiverStone Health and student nurses from Montana State University Billings will administer first doses of COVID-19 vaccine.

BILLINGS - Montana State University Billings announced the 2021 MSU-Billings Science Expo will be hosted virtually, in order to ensure the health and safety of all participants.Â
The MSU-Billings Science Expo will be held on Friday, March 5 and Saturday, March 6 through a virtual platform that specializes in hosting science fairs.
MSUB said the expo is open to students in grades 1-12 from a 24-county region in Eastern Montana. The deadline to enter a project to participate in the 2021 MSUB Science Expo is Feb. 19.
Given the caliber of the MSUB Science Expo and its importance to the local community, MSUB believes it was imperative for the event to still be held.
