An Eddyville man is among three new troopers who joined Kentucky State Police Post 1 in Mayfield after graduating from the Training Academy Friday.
According to KSP, the Post 1 graduates, Nicholas Engler, of Eddyville, Tyler Bloodworth, of Calvert City, and Marvin Morris, of Morehead, were among 45 new troopers part of the 100th KSP Training Academy. They earned their badges by completing twenty-four weeks of intense training while following ‘Health at Work’ guidelines, unlike any other cadet class in history has undergone. The training includes more than 1,000 hours of classroom and field study in subjects from constitutional, juvenile, and traffic laws to traffic and crowd control, bomb threats, hate crimes, and more.
ASHLAND — Four troopers will join the Ashland branch of the Kentucky State Police after graduating as part of the 100th training class of the Kentucky State Police academy.

Today, the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Training Academy, along with the Governor’s Office and the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet, presented graduation diplomas to forty-five new troopers. Of those, six new troopers are assigned to Post 9. These cadets have special significance as they represent the one-hundredth training class since the inception of the agency in 1948.
KSP Post 9 Captain Randal Surber is excited to welcome new troopers to Pikeville. Surber said the troopers are beginning a rewarding career and it will be an honor to serve alongside them.
”We are very excited with the arrival of the new troopers at post. We are fortunate with this class because five out of the six reside in our post district, unlike other classes where they get trained and transfer out to their home town. Once they complete their field training program, these six men are going to be a great asset to not only our post but also to the communit
