State Patrol Sunday, 3:46 a.m., in Paulding County Road 204 in Carryall Township, a vehicle driven by Boston Dunderman, 18, Antwerp, struck a ditch and culvert. Damage was heavy to the vehicle. He was cited for failure to control. Defiance Sheriff Wednesday, 10:47 p.m., a burglary was reported in the 03000 block of Ridenour Road, rural Edgerton. Defiance Police Wednesday, 12:35 p.m., at North Clinton Street and Elliott Road, a vehicle driven by Linda Holmes, 74, Lambertville, Mich., struck the rear of a stopped vehicle driven by Deborah VanBuskirk, 68, Elida. Holmes was cited for assured clear distance. Damage was light to the vehicles. Wednesday, 5:41 p.m., a shoplifting complaint was reported at Walmart, 1804 N. Clinton St.

Teen charged as adult in Mt Pleasant Twp armed robbery

A North Huntingdon teen was arrested by state police Wednesday in connection with an armed robbery Saturday in Mt. Pleasant Township. Elijah Ben Chaabane, 17, is charged with robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm by a minor, theft and related offenses. He is being charged as an adult. Troopers were called to Maruca Drive in Mt. Pleasant Township at 12:30 a.m. and found two men who reported being robbed by Chaabane, according to court papers. One of the men told police Chaabane contacted him through smartphone app SnapChat and requested a ride there from North Huntingdon in exchange for $40.

COVID claims three more Porter County lives COVID claims three more Porter County lives Three more Porter County residents succumbed to COVID-19 over the weekend, the Porter County Health Department (PCHD) was reporting. Two victims were Portage Township residents; and one, a Pleasant Township resident. Two were in the 80-89 demographic; one, in the 70-79 demographic. Two resided in long term care facilities (LTCFs). To date, 156 Porter County residents have lost their lives to COVID-19. Deaths by atownship: in Duneland, 15 Liberty residents; 10 Westchester; and three Jackson. Outside of Duneland: 66 Center residents; 52 Portage; seven Union; one Boone; and one Washington; and one Pleasant.
