Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday lashed out at previous governments, saying the poor had to bear the brunt of their wrong policies and intentions.
He said the poor people never believed in the past that the government will help them get a roof over their heads. Their (previous governments ) policies were wrong and the poor had to bear the brunt of their wrong intentions, he said while releasing financial assistance of Rs 2,691 crore to 6.1 lakh beneficiaries in Uttar Pradesh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Udupi, Jan 6: Archana Central, the 17th project of Archana Projects was launched was launched on Wednesday January 6.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was held at Archana Central site, at Bhujanga Rao Road, near PPC College, Udupi.
Shivananda Bhat, priest, led the pooja and rituals. Dr H T Vasappa, regional head regional office Udupi, Union Bank of India, along with other dignitaries laid the foundation stone for the new project. A formal stage function was held on the occasion.

Centre has awarded Odisha best performing state in rural housing: BJD 30
Bhubaneswar: BJD Spokesperson Lenin Mohanty said Prithviraj Harichandan is unaware that BJP ruled Centre has awarded Odisha the best performing State in the country for rural housing.
Mohanty said Odisha provides nearly the same amount of financial resources/funds that the Central government provides for the housing programmes in the state.
The BJD spokesperson said the success of completing 20 lakh houses in five years by the BJD government has unnerved the BJP in Odisha.
Harichandan’s statement is a reflection of the fear and anger within Odisha BJP, he said added that the pro-poor, pro-people housing development programmes in Odisha under the leadership of Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik do not go down well with the BJP.

1.11 lakh houses to be allotted to beneficiaries in first phase in AHUDA limits
The district administration is gearing up to launch the construction of 1,11,099 houses in the first phase by selecting from the 2.03 lakh house site beneficiaries in the urban areas and villages falling under the Anantapuramu, Hindupur Urban Development Authority (AHUDA).
The administration has already acquired 3,000 acres including some stretches of government and assigned land for the project.
